My co-worker is a plane & aviation history aficionado.
Me: “Yeah, I’ll be flying from London to DC, in a 747″
Him: “Oh, I flew that route once, on my way to Toronto. You’ll be flying over Lockerbie, in a 747!”
Hm.
Me: “May I have that stupid form that sends my post to somewhere else?”
Her: “Ah, you mean the mailforward form?” (I don’t care about your stupid internal jargon, gimme the form)
Me: “… yes.”
Her: “Here you go!”
Spend 15 mins filling it in, walk back to the counter.
Her: “Oh… you forgot to fill in the ‘end date’ bit. How long do you want us to send it on for?”
Me: “Uhhhh… isn’t it valid for about a year…?”
Her: “Oh, you’re moving? This form is only valid for up to two weeks. You want to fill in the other form!”
Me: “But.. mail forwarding… uhm… implies.. that… ngarghr… gimme the other form…”
